The Manufacturing Leadership Certification Course (MLCC) is designed for Leadhands, Supervisors and Managers in a manufacturing environment. The course is structured to challenge leaders to learn, grow and develop.
This course empowers leaders and delivers balanced and blended learning in self-assessment and analysis, situational analytical skills and organizational change management skills, presentation skill development and imparts important perspectives on how to develop innovation in both people and companies.
Lesson 1: Leadership Essentials in Manufacturing
This lesson instructs leaders so they can understand the importance of self-awareness as it relates to leadership. Participants will be able to identify their key strategic thinking styles, assess their ability to lead responsibly, understand self-reflection and self-assessment, understand how emotional intelligence impacts leadership skills, and create a plan for leading a balanced life as a leader.
Lesson 2: Leading Change in Canadian Manufacturing
Participants gain a clear understanding of the rapid change Canadian Manufacturing is experiencing currently and explore how change impacts people and organizations. They will learn the concepts of personal and organizational change, learn to use strategic thinking to plan for change, to plan for growth, to develop high-impact strategies that help manage change, and to identify change issues in the workplace.
Lesson 3: Communication & Conflict Management
This course is for manufacturing leaders (who interact with people constantly) so they can develop an inspirational leadership presence by learning how to project themselves and communicate more effectively. Participants will gain knowledge of communication and conflict management strategies, learn to represent self and organization in an engaging, persuasive and memorable way, learn how to structure and present meetings, and learn how to recognize respond to and solve conflict.
Lesson 4: Coaching & Building High Performance Teams
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills required to be a successful coach that creates a supportive environment, helping to improve everyone’s performance and reach their potential. Participants will be able to describe the differences between coaching and team building, describe production and quality control improvement using effective coaching and team approaches, identify team building opportunities in a manufacturing environment, and understand how to use coaching tools that drive innovative and quality processes in organizations.
Lesson 5: Situational Leadership in Manufacturing
This course will equip leaders with the tools, tactics and techniques necessary to skillfully navigate the demands of complex manufacturing leadership situations on a day to day, moment by moment basis using an increasingly diverse workforce and dealing with evolving organizational demands. Participants will learn the Situational Leadership Model and how to use it, understand how to utilize and apply the four leadership styles, build skill in diagnosing competence and commitment of people to the tasks that they are assigned, and learn how to establish goals and objectives with the people they manage.
Manufacturing leaders have felt the impact of the change in their industries most dramatically as global competition, the development of advanced technologies and other economic challenges are rapidly changing the way Canadian business and industry operate. Leaders must demonstrate both an understanding of a rapidly changing, multi–faceted manufacturing processes along with a high level of technical expertise as they coach, train and develop the human resources in their places of operation. MLCC will support existing and aspiring supervisors and managers.

Each course can be taken individually, however, to reap the full benefits of a progressive training program, we recommend taking all 5 days.
For individual courses, the cost per course, per person, is $899.
If bundled together, the cost is $590 per participant, per day of training, totaling $2,950 per person for 5 courses.
